Granta MI High Availability
To ensure high availability (HA) in delivering Granta MI services, you can configure a Granta MI cluster.
In a Granta MI HA cluster:
- You have 2 Granta MI application servers ("nodes").
- A load balancer is used to distribute MI workloads between these MI server
nodes.
As Granta MI does not include a load balancing mechanism, you should install a load balancer that suits the needs of your organization. See Load balancer requirements for recommended configuration.
- Microsoft SQL Server provides data storage, and should be configured for high availability, see High availability for SQL Server.
- Elasticsearch provides data indexing and search features. To ensure High Availability, you should configure an Elasticsearch cluster with 3 nodes, see Elasticsearch deployment options.
- Optionally, a separate Elasticsearch instance may be used for log aggregation.
- Additional servers are used to host Ansys License Manager, and optional compute-intensive MI Material Calibration and MI AI+ services.
