Toolbar guide
Learn more about the tools and features accessible from the main toolbar and chart stage toolbar in Granta EduPack.
Main toolbar
The main toolbar is always displayed at the top of the window.

| Home | Open or return to the database homepage. |
| Browse | Browse the database tree. |
| Search | Search for records. |
| Chart/Select | Plot materials data and create selection stages. |
| Solver | Calculate material property values. Not available in Granta EduPack Introductory. |
| Eco Audit | Evaluate the environmental impact of a product, and view guidance on how to reduce it.The enhanced version of the tool is only available in some Level 3 databases. |
| Synthesizer | Create new records with modeled material properties. Not available in Granta EduPack Introductory. |
| Learn | Access resources and references for self-supported learning on the Granta EduPack Learn Online site. |
| Tools | Add records to a Favorites list or Comparison Table, add your own data to Granta EduPack or define a reference record. Comparison Table and Reference Record are not available in Granta EduPack Introductory. |
| Settings | The application settings for Granta EduPack determine how information is displayed. |

Chart toolbar
The chart toolbar is displayed between the stage title and chart area on the Chart tab. The button names are displayed as tooltips when you hover over them, and similar functions are grouped together.

Chart settings: Go to the
Settings tab of the Chart Stage dialog.
Cursor: Switch to the cursor
to create, select and move data labels, or use context menus to perform tasks with
plotted records.
Index and display lines: Perform a
selection on the chart using an index line. Can also be used to plot a line with a
specified gradient for display only.
Box selection: Perform a
selection on the chart for x and y ranges by drawing a box. Can also be used to draw a
rectangle for display only.
Delete lines and boxes:
Delete all index lines and box selections on the chart (including those marked for
display only), and update the selection results accordingly.

Autoscale: Re-scale the axes to fit all the visible
elements.
Text label: Add a text annotation to the
chart.
Arrow: Add a straight arrow or line to the chart.
Curve: Add a curved arrow or line to the chart.
Show family envelopes: Display envelopes on the chart
representing which material families the plotted records belong to. Click the arrow to
the right of the button to add, edit or hide individual envelopes.
Show results from all enabled stages: Display records which pass
this stage, but not all enabled stages, in gray.
Hide
failed records: Do not display records which fail any enabled
stage.
Highlight favorite records: Show
Favorites on the chart in their record color, and all others in white (other Highlighted
records will also show in color).
Highlight reference record:
Show Reference Record on the chart in its record color, and all others in white (other
Highlighted records will also show in color).
Highlight synthesized records: Show Synthesized records on the
chart in their record color, and all others in white (other Highlighted records will
also show in color).
Highlight user-defined records: Show
User-defined Records on the chart in their record color, and all others in white (other
Highlighted records will also show in color).
Change to nearby record: Switch focus to the record with the
nearest bubble on the chart (a record must be selected on the chart for the button to be
active). Click the arrow to the right of the button to select from a list of several
nearby records.
