Displaying temperature in absolute or relative units

Choose whether to use absolute units (Kelvin/Rankine) or relative (display) units (Celsius/Fahrenheit) for temperature data.

On the Units tab in the Settings dialog:

  • To use units of Kelvin, K, or Rankine, R, select the Use Absolute Units for Temperature radio button.
  • To use units of degrees Celsius (°C) or Fahrenheit (°F), select the Use Display Units for Temperature radio button.

    Absolute units are always used:

    • When a temperature unit is part of a unit expression.
    • On selection charts where a combined attribute which includes a temperature unit has been plotted on an axis.
