Viewing your Granta MI connection settings

These settings control the connection between MI Materials Gateway and the Granta MI server that hosts your databases.

If you can't connect to the Granta MI database, you may need to check both your

Log in credentials and the settings on this screen.

To view your Granta MI connection settings
  1. Click in the navigation bar and select Settings > Granta MI connection.
  2. Check that the URL provided in the Service Layer is correct.
    The Service Layer setting specifies the URL of your Granta MI server - this should be in the format http://your.granta.server/mi_servicelayer or https://your.granta.server/mi_servicelayer (where your.granta.server is the name of your server). Note that you may not be able to change this, if it has been set by your MI Materials Gateway administrator.
  3. Click Log in to test your connection settings, or to re-establish a connection that has been lost.
  4. Optional: Other advanced settings can be accessed by selecting Use proxy and Show advanced HTTP system configuration. You will not normally need to use these settings; for more information, contact your MI Materials Gateway administrator.
