Migration of assignments from parts to bodies
When Creo Parametric is configured to assign materials to bodies, MI Materials Gateway cannot display assignments that already exist at part level. If you view an assembly or part that has assignments at part level, you are given the option to migrate part-level assignments to bodies.
If you choose to migrate the assignments:
- The assignments on each part will be copied to each of its bodies, and will be deleted from the part.
- This includes process, surface treatment and color assignments, and alternate assignments, where applicable.
Important:
Synchronization of assignments from Windchill to Creo is not supported when Creo is
configured to assign to bodies. If you are prompted to migrate assignments, and you
think the part or assembly might contain assignments that were made in Windchill:
- Do not migrate the assignments.
- Close the MI Materials Gateway window.
- If you need to view the part or assembly in MI Materials Gateway for Creo, you can change your Creo Parametric settings to disable assignment to bodies.
