Deleting locally cached schema information

To improve performance, MI Materials Gateway stores some information about the database schema in a local cache that persists between sessions. You can update this cache at any time, or delete it from disk (for example, to comply with export regulations).

The schema information that is cached can include table names, attribute names and definitions, unit systems and units, and record link groups between tables.
Note: It does not include data values or links for individual records, folder names, or browse tree structure.
The cache is created, or updated, when:
  • You log into MI Materials Gateway
  • When Windows starts up (if the Service has been configured to start immediately)
  • Nightly (if the cache has been set to automatically refresh)
To delete the cache manually:
  1. In the navigation bar, select Settings > Granta MI connection.
  2. Click Delete cache from disk.
Tip: You can do this without connecting to your Granta MI system.
This deletes all schema information from the cache on disk. The information will remain cached in memory until your MI Materials Gateway session ends.
