Color rendering in Creo Parametric
Assignment of colors in MI Materials Gateway for Creo Parametric can be configured to render the surface appearance of the part or body in Creo using the assigned color. If assigning a color does not render the appearance as you expect, this could be for one of the following reasons.
- Family Table parts
- Color rendering is not supported when assigning to Family Table generics or instances. The color data is assigned (and is inherited as usual), but the appearance of the part or body is not modified.
- Appearance settings on other items
- In some circumstances, existing Appearance settings on items other than parts
(if you are assigning to parts) or bodies (if you are assigning to bodies) might
prevent the assigned color from being rendered in Creo. This could include
Appearance settings on the assembly, on drawings, or on other items.Tip: A possible workaround is to clear all Appearances that apply to the part or body, and then re-assign the color.
- Legacy assignments
- Color rendering was introduced at the 2025 R2 release of Granta MI. Any color
assignments that were made before color rendering was enabled on your Granta MI
system will not affect the part or body's appearance.Tip: To render the appearance, re-assign the color.
