MI Viewer has two modes, Read and Edit, which allow you to perform different tasks
depending on your level of access to the Granta MI system.
If you have sufficient privileges, Read mode and Edit Mode options will be
available in the toolbar, and you can switch between modes. If you have view-only access
to the system, these options do not appear on the toolbar.

- View and print datasheets.
- Bookmark records or searches.
- View record properties.
- Add records to the Record List for analysis and reporting.
- Copy record identifiers to the clipboard.
- Export data to Excel.
- Export material cards for use in CAD, CAE, or PLM applications.
- Receive notifications of changes to specific records and
data.
- Create Excel workbooks for data import.
- View record & data version history.

- Edit record data and links.
- Edit record properties.
- Add, delete, move, and copy records.
- Move records and folders into and out of Subsets.
Users with sufficient privileges (Grant
or higher) can also:
- Edit access control permissions for records and data.
- Create new record versions, and change release, revert,
withdraw, or reinstate records.
