Restricted Substances and Sustainability

Before installing MI Restricted Substances or MI Sustainability, you must ensure that a compatible version of Granta MI is installed and configured on your system, including the MI Service Layer component.

Data Updates

Note: Applying Data Updates for Restricted Substances and Sustainability requires the following minimum hardware specifications for your Granta MI application server, in addition to the standard system requirements for Granta MI.

• Processor: minimum 12 core server
• RAM: minimum 48 GB

Specification Maintenance

The Specification Maintenance Tool 2025 R2 can only be used with the Restricted Substances and Sustainability Database 2025 R2. You must ensure that the version number of the Restricted Substances and Sustainability Database and the Specification Maintenance Tool are the same before running the tool.

The tool can be installed on any supported desktop client from which your Granta MI server can be accessed.
