Granta MI High Availability

To ensure high availability (HA) in delivering services running on a Granta MI application server, you can configure two MI application servers as an HA cluster.

In a Granta MI clustered deployment:

  • A load balancer is used to distribute MI workloads.
  • A Microsoft SQL Server with FILESTREAM enabled provides data storage for the cluster.
  • An Elasticsearch instance provides data indexing and search features for the cluster.
  • Optionally, a second Elasticsearch instance may be used for log aggregation.

As part of your High Availability strategy, you should set up the following:

  • A SQL Server cluster for data storage.
  • An Elasticsearch cluster for data indexing and search features.

As Granta MI does not include a load balancing mechanism, you should also install a separate load balancer that suits the needs of your organization. See Load balancer requirements for recommended configuration.
