MI Viewer application menu item

The Viewer menu item opens the MI Viewer web application in a new browser tab.

Users will see a Viewer item in their One MI Applications menu only if:

• The MI Viewer web application is installed on your Granta MI application server.
• Your MI Viewer application URL is specified in settings.preferences in MI Settings. See below.
• The viewer appKey is specified in the menu definition for their MI role. See Menu JSON reference. This appKey is included in the default (as-installed) menu configuration for all MI system user roles (Admin, Power User, Grant, Write, and Read).

The MI Viewer application URL must be specified in the viewerUrl setting in settings.preferences.json to enable the MI Viewer menu item and also to enable the home page openViewerIn action functionality.

This viewerUrl setting is not configured by default during installation. It must be set explicitly by editing its value in the MI Settings app, for example:

Note that this viewerUrl setting is independent of the DefaultViewerInternalAddress setting, which is set during product installation.
