Using materials assigned in NX by a CAD designer

When you import a part geometry from NX, any Granta materials that were assigned by the CAD designer in NX will be grayed-out. This indicates that the part geometry contains a reference a material that is not currently in HyperMesh.

To bring the data required for simulation into HyperMesh, you need to re-assign the material.

1. Click the component to select it.
2. Right-click the material name, and select Assign to selection.

The material data required for simulation is assigned to the component in HyperMesh.
