Selecting SIwave Solution Setup Options

Make further changes to Ansys SIwave™ simulations by modifying the general Ansys SIwave™ solution setup parameters.

General Tab

Note:

Parameters on this tab only affect SYZ and Near Field simulations.

SIwave Solution Setup - General

From the General tab, do the following:

Advanced Tab

Note:

Parameters on this tab only affect SYZ and Near Field simulations.

SIwave Solution Setup - Advanced

From the Advanced tab, do the following:

DC Tab

Note:

Parameters on this tab only affect DC IR simulations. However, if Compute exact DC point is checked on the Edit Frequency Sweep window during SYZ solution setup, then a DCIR simulation is effectively run during SYZ simulation.

SIwave Solution Setup - DC

From the DC tab, do the following:

DC Advanced Tab

Note:

Parameters on this tab only affect DC IR simulations. However, if Compute exact DC point is checked on the Edit Frequency Sweep window during SYZ solution setup, then a DCIR simulation is effectively run during SYZ simulation.

SIwave Solution Setup - DC Advanced

DC Advanced options include the following:

S-Parameters Tab

Note:

Parameters on this tab only affect SYZ and Near Field simulations.

SIwave Solution Setup Window > S-Parameters Tab SIwave Solution Setup Window > S-Parameters Tab

From the S-Parameters tab, do the following:

Temperature Tab

SIwave Solution Setup Window > Temperature Tab

From the Temperature tab, check Import temperature map from Icepak to select an external Ansys Icepak/Ansys SIwave temperature distribution file, then Browse to an appropriate file and select it (e.g., test.sitemp). The temperature data can locally adjust DC conductivity and dielectric permittivity as a function of (x, y, layer) location.

Note:

Materials must have an associated thermal modifier for temperature variation to have an impact.
