Maxwell 2D and 3D Examples

Maxwell 2D and 3D example designs are stored in the \\Examples\Maxwell subdirectory within the AnsysEM installation directory. Detailed information for each design is included in the Notes in the design's Project Manager tree.

Note: The Ex_MS_4_ECE_Linear_Movement.aedt and WirelessCharging.aedt designs cannot be used on Linux platforms because they contain TwinBuilder designs. The TwinBuilder application is not supported on Linux.

The designs below, found in the \\Examples\Maxwell subdirectory, are those modeled in the Maxwell Getting Started Guides.

\\Examples\Maxwell\Actuators\ Solenoid.aedt	The solenoid model shown is a 2D axisymmetric simulation of a 3D actuator that demonstrates rotational symmetry about a central axis. The problem is a magnetostatic model that uses parametric analysis to determine the force on the core as various locations along the length of the stroke. This is a nonlinear problem incorporating both nonlinear steel and a permanent magnet. This problem is used in Getting Started with Maxwell: A 2D Magnetostatic Solenoid Problem.
\\Examples\Maxwell\Actuators\ Rotational_actuator.aedt	The rotational actuator is another magnetostatic example usable for the parametric study of the torque and inductance characteristics vs. position. Possible variation(s) of the setup can include using ferromagnetic materials with different magnetic (nonlinear) characteristics and the respective impact on torque and inductance characteristics. This model is used in Getting Started with Maxwell: Designing a Rotational Actuator.
\\Examples\Maxwell\Actuators\ Rotational_Act_TR.aedt	This model is a modified version of the Rotational Actuator model listed above. It is configured with a motion band for rotating the inner armature. It is a transient problem using an external circuit to drive the coils with a pulse voltage. The results demonstrate the torque, position, and current versus time as the inner armature object moves with time. This model is used in the Getting Started with Maxwell: Transient Problem guide.
\\Examples\Maxwell\Actuators\ ExternalCircuit.aedt	This project is the Maxwell Circuit Editor model used in the transient rotational actuator problem to drive the coils with a pulse input.
\\Examples\Maxwell\ECAD integration for PCBs\ SNN_ECAD_Maxwell_withMagnet.aedtz	The project archive is the complete model used to simulate the effect a permanent magnet has on the PCB board. If you would like to build the model, the starter archive is located at \\Help\Maxwell. This model is used in Getting Started with Maxwell: Maxwell Integration with ECAD.
\\Examples\Maxwell\General\AC Magnetic\ CoilwithDisk.aedt	This project is a coil with an iron disk that can be used to model eddy current with skin effects. This model is used in the Getting Started with Maxwell 3D: AC Magnetic Problem guide.
