Mesh Parameters for Heat Sinks
To assign a mesh operation with local mesh parameters on a heat sink component, select the heat sink instance in the History tree and assign a mesh operation. On the General tab, enable Local mesh parameters and click the Local Mesh Parameter tab.
| Base Parameters | |
|---|---|
| X Count | X Count specifies the number of elements along the X axis of the base. |
| Y Count | Y Count specifies the number of elements along the Y axis of the base. |
| Z Count | Z Count specifies the number of elements along the Z axis of the base. |
| Element Height | Element Height specifies the first element next to the base of the heat sink, on all sides of the base. |
| Element Ratio | Element Ratio specifies the ratio of the height of a given element to the height of an adjacent element in the row one level nearer to the base of the heat sink. Together with the height, this parameter controls mesh grading and density near the base of the heat sink. |
| Pins Parameters | |
| X Count | X Count specifies the number of elements along the X axis of the pins. |
| Y Count | Y Count specifies the number of elements along the Y axis of the pins. |
| Z Count | Z Count specifies the number of elements along the Z axis of the pins. |
| Element Height | Element Height specifies the first element next to the pins of the heat sink, on all sides of the pins. |
| Element Ratio | Element Ratio specifies the ratio of the height of a given element to the height of an adjacent element in the row one level nearer to the pins of the heat sink. Together with the height, this parameter controls mesh grading and density near the pins of the heat sink. |
| Cells between Pins | Cells between Pins specifies the minimum number of cells between each heat sink pin. |
