Example 1: Dielectric Resonator Antenna

The following figure shows a dielectric antenna resonator. The antenna is cavity-backed with an annular-slot-fed dielectric resonator. The model is fed with lumped port across the annular slot. The design’s operating frequency is 3.5 GHz.

Seeding this model can improve the appearance of the field plots in the desired areas. For this design, mesh seeding operations for the model are assigned as shown below.

After HFSS solves the design, the resulting field plots on the ground plane are shown in the following figures. In this case, seeding the mesh ensures a high resolution plot.
