Mechanical Licensing Requirements
Mechanical–Modal and Mechanical–Structural solutions have a unique licensing requirement, different from other Ansys Electronics Desktop (AEDT) products:
- The License for Structural/Modal solution type that you specify must match the type of license purchased by you or your organization. Instructions for doing so follow.
Choose Structural/Modal License
There are three levels of PPE license available for purchase:
- Mechanical Pro (default selection)
- Mechanical Premium
- Mechanical Enterprise
Important:
Though all three of these licenses support the full scope of modal and structural solutions available for Mechanical designs in AEDT, you still must choose the specific type of license that has been purchased for your installation. Otherwise, structural and model solutions will fail to run.
Use the following procedure to specify the appropriate Structural/Modal license:
- Use one of the following two methods of accessing the HPC and Analysis Options dialog box:
- On the Simulation ribbon tab, click
HPC Options. - From the menu bar, click Tools > Options > HPC and Analysis Options.
- Select the Options tab.
- Choose Mechanical from the Options for Design Type drop-down menu.
- Click the Value cell to the right of License for Structural/Modal solution type and select the license type that matches the type purchased for your use:
- Click OK.
