HFSS 3D Layout Mesh Seeding

Each HFSS Setup can be assigned a sequence of mesh operations. These operations share many of the same HFSS meshing functionality and features. HFSS 3D Layout supports both length-based mesh refinement and skin depth-based mesh seeding.

Seeding is the technique of guiding HFSS through the construction of the mesh. HFSS starts with an initial mesh and by adaptive refinement refines the mesh. However, if you know before starting the simulation where such refinement is needed in the model, seeding can provide a more refined starting mesh for the adaptive refinement process, which may result in obtaining the converged mesh faster.

Due to the manner in which HFSS 3D Layout pre-processes geometry and assembles mesh entities, mesh operations are assigned to net-layer pairs. Mesh seeding and refinement is added through the Project Manager window by right-clicking on the project's HFSS Setup analysis:
