Using the Impedance Extractor

The Impedance Extractor calculates the characteristic impedance for the transmission line defined by the specified port pair.

To access the Impedance Extractor from SUtility:

  1. Select the project file.
  2. Click Utilities > Impedance Extractor.

    3. The Impedance Extractor window appears.

To run the analysis:

  1. Select two ports from the Port List.
  2. Click Add Pair to apply the pairing.

    3. The Port Pairs box updates to reflect the new pairing.

  3. Alternatively, click Auto Detect by Net to automatically generate ports.

  4. Click Extract to start the analysis.

    5. The results are loaded and plotted in the main SUtility window.
