SIwave Getting Started Guides

The Examples/SIwave subfolder within your Electronics Desktop installation includes sample .ANF files. 

To familiarize yourself with some of the features of SIwave, you can use these files along with two Getting Started Guides:

• PCB Model

  This Getting Started Guide is written for SIwave beginners as well as experienced users who would like to quickly familiarize themselves with the capabilities of SIwave. This guide leads you step-by-step through creating, solving, and analyzing the results of simulating nets and planes on a PCB.

  By following the steps in this guide, you will learn how to perform the following tasks in SIwave:

  • Draw a geometric model
  • Specify solution settings for a design
  • Validate a design's setup
  • Run an SIwave simulation
  • Create 2D plots of the results

• SIwave-CPA Package Model

  This Getting Started Guide is written for SIwave beginners as well as experienced users who would like to quickly familiarize themselves with the capabilities of SIwave-CPA. This guide leads you step-by-step through importing a package design, setting up and performing an extraction analysis, and viewing the results of the extractions.

  By following the steps in this guide, you will learn how to perform the following tasks in SIwave-CPA:

  • Import a geometric package model
  • Specify parameter settings for the extraction
  • Run an SIwave-CPA RLCG extraction
  • Review the results in tabular and graphical format
