Dynamically Linking from HFSS
An SIwave project can be defined as the source of an incident wave excitation in HFSS. HFSS can use field solutions from other simulations as sources for new simulations. The other simulations can be done in HFSS, SIwave or Maxwell 3D.
Radiated fields from the source project are imposed as an incident wave in the target project. The SIwave project is an excitation in the HFSS project. Therefore, HFSS calls and launches SIwave, but the reverse is not possible.
As an example of the SIwave - HFSS link, consider a complicated printed circuit board causing EMC/EMI problems in and around its housing.
Unix operating systems (Linux) must have the environment variable SIWAVE_INSTALL_DIR set for the dynamic link to work. Set this environment variable to point to the directory where the Ansys EM Suite is installed, for example:
/opt/AnsysEM/v242/Linux64
