Clipping the Design
SIwave allows you to cut out and view a particular region of the design and ignore the rest of the geometry.
To clip a design:
- Click Tools. From the Transformation Tools area, click Clip Design.
- Select the shape of the cutting area. You can choose either Rectangle or Polygon. The Clip button is enabled after you select a shape.
- Draw the cutting area.
- Choose the location of the starting point and click on it.
- Click-and-drag the mouse to draw the rectangle.
- Click or double-click to finish. You can also right-click and then select Done from the short-cut menu.
- Click on the point where you want to start the polygon.
- Click-and-drag the mouse to draw the shape of the polygon. The lines in the polygon cannot intersect.
- Click to end each line.
- Double-click to end the polygon. You can also right-click and then select Done from the short-cut menu.
- Specify the options for clipping traces. You can choose either Cut traces crossing clipping polygon boundary, Include all traces which overlap the clipping polygon, or Include only traces completely inside the clipping polygon.
- Specify the visibility options. You can choose either Yes to clip all objects on all layers or No to clip visible objects only.
- Click Clip.
