Aborting an Analysis

To end the solution before the currently running process is complete:

Right-click in the Progress window and click Abort.

The solver ends the analysis immediately. The data for the currently running solution, variation, or time step (for transient solutions) is lost. Previously completed solutions may or may not be retained (depending on what process was interrupted by the Abort command). If you want to ensure that the results of all completed solutions are saved, use Clean Stop instead of Abort.

To abort the solution after the currently running process is complete:

Right-click the Progress window and click Clean Stop on the shortcut menu.

The analysis ends after the currently running solution, variation, or time step (for transient solutions) has been solved.

Note:

Restart analyses are not currently supported for Mechanical solutions, regardless of whether a solution is stopped using Abort or Clean Stop. Partial results are written and retained but not made available for post-processing. Additionally, if you reanalyze the model, the solution starts back at the beginning. The exception is the mesh, which is retained if completed prior to stopping the solution. When you rerun the solution, the mesh is not regenerated (assuming the geometry is unchanged).
