Surface Charge Density
The Surface Charge Density, ρs, that is generated on a surface between two materials when solving electric field problems, is given by the following equation:
where
- E1 is the electric field and e1 the permittivity in the material on one side of the boundary.
- E2 is the electric field and e2 the permittivity in the material on the opposite side of the boundary.
- n in the normal vector of the surface.
To calculate the surface charge, you must first select a surface in the modeling window.
