Defining the General Data for a Line-Start PM Synchronous Motor
Use the General window to define the basic parameters of the motor, such as the motor’s rated output power, rated voltage, losses, and connection type.
To define the general data:
- To open the General Data Properties window, double-click the Machine entry in the project tree on the desktop. (You can also enter values in the Properties section of the desktop without opening a separate window.)
- Enter the number of poles for the machine in the Number of Poles field. This value is the total number of poles in the stator (or the number of pole pairs multiplied by two).
- Enter the energy loss due to friction at the given speed in the Frictional Loss field.
- Enter the wind loss due to air resistance measured at the reference speed in the Wind Loss field.
- Enter the given speed in the Reference Speed field.
- Click OK to close the Properties window.
