Adding a New Output Variable

To add an output variable:

  1. Click Maxwell 3D, Maxwell 2D, or RMxprt and then select Results > Output Variables or, in the Project tree, right-click on Results and select Output Variables from the short-cut menu, or on the Modify Report dialog box, click the Output Variables button.
  2. The Output Variables window appears. Variables defined using the Results > Output Variables command appear in the list at the top of the window.

  3. In the Output Variables section, enter a name for the new variable in the Name box.
  4. To enter an expression, do one or both of the following:
    1. Type part or all of the expression directly in the Expression area. Valid functions appear in blue. Invalid functions appear in red.
    2. Insert part or all of the expression using the options in the Calculation and Function sections.
  5. Optionally, choose to Validate output variables for selected context.
  6. Click Add to add the new variable to the list.
  7. Repeat steps 2 through 4 to add additional variables.
  8. When you are finished adding output variables, click Done to close the Output Variables window.
