Cadence APD Links
Utilizing Cadence APD, take advantage of a closer integration between 3D Layout and external data sources. The following subsections describe Cadence APD link actions regarding servers, options, and bondwires.
Configure Ports for Dynamic Interaction with the Cadence Data Source
- HFSS can interact dynamically with an active Cadence session using IPC. Multiple clients can be configured and ports specified on the Cadence APD Links window.
Configure Import Options
- Purge conflicting net geometry: upon import, if the target layout already contains geometry on a given net, delete it.
- Import diestacks: create and adjust layers and geometry using the SiP diestack information.
- Configure discrete components by configuring ports and creating local references for surface mount devices (SMDs).
- Post-import callback by configuring a script to execute after design import.
- Implement naming conventions by specifying how to name imported pins.
Configure and View Active Bondwire Definitions
- Cadence bondwire profile definitions can be loaded and used within HFSS Layout. Profiles found in *.abwlb (Ansys Bondwire Definition) files in syslib folder are automatically loaded.
- Profiles are defined and parsed using the Cadence XML Wirebond Document Type Definition.
- Profile definitions can be viewed, imported, and edited in the Bondwires tab of the Edit Libraries window (i.e., from Tools select Edit libraries > Bondwires to open the Edit Libraries window.
