Aligning Objects in the Layout Editor
To align objects in the Layout Editor, first select more than one object. From the Draw menu, select Align to open the Alignment window.
The following Horizontal Alignment controls are available:
- No Horizontal Alignment
- Align Left
- Align Right
- Center Horizontally
- Distribute Centers Horizontally places multiple polygons so the horizontal spaces between their centers are equal
- Space Edges Horizontally places multiple polygons so the horizontal spaces between their edges are equal
The following Vertical Alignment controls are available:
- No Vertical Alignment
- Align Top
- Align Bottom
- Center Vertically
- Distribute Centers Vertically places multiple polygons so the vertical spaces between their centers are equal
- Space Edges Vertically places multiple polygons so the vertical spaces between their edges are equal
Auto-alignment of components is available by selecting one or more objects and clicking Ctrl+M. But auto-alignment only rotates/positions components to match connections, and does not flip or unflip them. Therefore, auto-aligning components which are flipped or have twisted connections will align the components improperly.
