Selecting a Field Quantity to Plot (2D and Circuit)

When plotting field quantities, the quantity can be a value that was calculated by Electronics Desktop such as the magnitude of S₁₁, a value from a calculated expression, or an intrinsic (inherent) variable value such as frequency or phase.

To select a field quantity to plot:

1. When you create the report, specify the Report Type as "Fields."
2. In the Report window, select Geometry for the Context, unless you are plotting scalar (e.g., integration).
3. In the Report window, select one of the following categories:
   

   Variables	Intrinsic variables, such as frequency or phase, or user-defined project variables, such as the length of a quarter-wave transformer.
   Output Variables	user-defined expressions applied to derive quantities on the original field solution.
   Calculator Expressions	Includes scalar and vector field quantities automatically calculated by Ansys Electronics Desktop, as well as derived field quantities that are defined by calculated expressions you set up in the Fields Calculator.

   
   
4. Select a quantity to plot on the Quantity group box. The available quantities depends upon the selected category and the setup of the design.
