Windows vs. Linux Installations

All features of the Ansys Electromagnetics Suite are available when the solftware is installed on a supported Windows platform. The majority of features are also available when the software is installed on a supported Linux platform, with several exceptions.

This topic lists the specific Electromagnetics Suite applications, design types, or other features that are not available when the software is installed on a Linux platform.

Applications, Design Types, and Features not Supported on Linux

  • The ACT Extensions window of the Ansys Electronics Desktop application and the design toolkits it contains:

    • (5G Wizard, HFSS Antenna Design Toolkit, HFSS-Savant Datalink, and Maxwell Eccentricities)

  • The Ansys Nuhertz FilterSolutions application
  • The Ansys PEmag application
  • The Ansys PExprt application
  • The Ansys Twin Builder application
  • The EMIT design type of the Ansys Electronics Desktop application
  • The Simplorer design type of the Ansys Electronics Desktop application

To utilize any of the above listed features, you must install the Ansys Electromagnetics Suite on a Windows platform.
