Using Resources
A project space can provide access to the following types of resources:
Virtual desktop. A virtual desktop is a computer that you access over the Internet. It has the functionality of a physical computer but is not tied to a physical machine. It functions as a virtual computer system with its own CPU, memory, network interface, and permanent storage. When you connect to a virtual desktop in Ansys Access on Microsoft Azure, a remote desktop session is launched. During the session you use applications as if they were installed locally. See Launching a Virtual Desktop Session.
Autoscaling cluster. A cluster consists of several compute nodes that are networked together with high-speed interconnect, and share access to fast temporary storage. A cluster enables you to process large amounts of data and achieve complex calculations with high performance. Clusters in Ansys Access on Microsoft Azure scale automatically to meet workload demands. See Submitting a Job to an Autoscaling Cluster.
The resources available in a project space and the way in which you interact with each one depends on how the project space is configured.
