Availability Zones

An availability zone is a location defined in Azure which is mapped to a physical data center in an Azure region. A data center provides the hardware and networking systems needed for data storage and high-performance computing.

To learn more about availability zones, refer to What are availability zones? in the Microsoft Azure documentation.

When creating project spaces and resources such as virtual desktops, creators must choose the availability zone(s) that will provision requested hardware.

To view or manage availability zones:

  1. On the main toolbar, click to display the Administration page.

  2. In the navigation pane, select Availability zones.

Initially, the list is empty. It is up to a tenant administrator to add availability zones to the list.
