Ansys Account | A single account for accessing Ansys websites and forums, activating
subscription-based applications, and downloading apps from the Ansys Store. |
Ansys Account Portal | A website where you can view and manage purchased subscriptions. One or more designated
administrators in your company can use the Administration
page to view a list of subscriptions that the company has purchased, add users to the system,
and assign or reassign subscriptions to different users. Any user can use the My Subscriptions page to view their assigned subscriptions, and
manage the devices on which their applications are running. To access the portal, go to

Subscription | A subscription entitles you to access Ansys Cloud or run Ansys Discovery applications on your
desktop for a specified amount of time (typically 12 months). You can renew or upgrade a
subscription when needed. |
Activation | When you launch a subscription-based application for the first time, and sign in to
your Ansys Account when prompted, the application is then activated on that device. This
enables an application to function. You can activate an application on up to two different
devices, and also deactivate an application on a device. Note that Cloud Essentials
subscriptions do not require activation. |
Activation ID | A unique series of numbers/characters that is associated with a subscription, and that
is used to activate a product on a device (for example, 2A2BC345-6E78-9FGH-5432A123456).
Typically, the activation ID is automatically passed to the application when you sign in to
the application for the first time. |
