This release of Ansys HPC Platform Services offers the following new features and enhancements:
Deployment Improvements
Linux packages (rpm/deb) are available for the Autoscaling Service. This will install the service in
systemdand add a service user to run it (if one does not exist). For instructions on installing, configuring, and starting the service, see Deploying the Autoscaling Service in the Deployment Guide.Resolved an issue with the Process Launcher Service not having enough memory specified to run MPI jobs. 'MEMLOCK=infinity' was added to the
systemdfile.Cleaned up multiple OS versions of components required for various operating systems.
Upgraded several dependencies with the latest versions for improved security posture.
The version of Traefik (the networking gateway) has been upgraded to version 2.11.
Instructions are now available for deploying Ansys HPC Platform Services on a Windows machine. See Deploying Core Services to Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL) in the Ansys HPC Platform Services Deployment Guide.
New Data Transfer Service
A new data transfer service has been implemented to provide better performance and support new cloud initiatives that rely on Ansys HPC Platform Services.
The service offers the flexibility needed to support a wider range of data transfer protocols and cloud storage needs.
The service supports Access Control Lists (ACLs) in Linux. ACLs allow you to go beyond the user/group/world concept to set more flexible permissions for files and directories.
The entire Ansys HPC Platform Services infrastructure (including client SDKs) has been updated to use the new data transfer service.
The updated service presents new client package downloads to clients, ensuring that all clients stay up-to-date automatically.
An added backwards compatibility mode ensures that previous client integrations continue to work.
Autoscaling Service Updates
Resolved an issue where the compute resource set ID would change when restarting or editing the Autoscaling Service configuration.
For each task definition, the Autoscaling Service now quits making submissions after three failed attempts.
The state of the task remains pending.
Log files are kept for the last run only.
Modifying the task definition to fix the failure enables the Autoscaling Service to resume submission for the task.
More options are available for customizing the job submission script that the Autoscaling Service uses.
Custom information can be added to the Resource Management Service for a compute resource set.
Improved messaging and logging provide better scaler observability.
Improved User Experience
Visual indicators have been added to the Projects page to provide an enhanced representation of current project states.

Icons help you quickly identify projects that are incomplete and draw attention to those that may have issues (such as jobs that have timed out).

Progress bars provide a picture of completion progress.

For more information, see Monitoring the State of Projects in the Ansys HPC Platform Services User's Guide.
The Projects page includes a new Applications column in the project list display.
On the Projects page, new status filters enable you to filter the project list display to show only projects that contain jobs with specific statuses. See Filtering and Sorting Projects in the Ansys HPC Platform Services User's Guide..

When using the Ansys HPC Manager web application, the application version is now displayed on the browser tab, enabling you to easily identify the version that you are using.
