Ansys Discovery

The following properties can be exported to Ansys Discovery, depending on which data table you are exporting from, and which model you select.

Note: Only compatible with Ansys Discovery 2021 R2 onwards.

Data exported to Ansys Discovery from Granta Selector must be saved in your Shared or Local material library locations before you can view the materials in Discovery.

The default local library location is C:\Users\<yourusername>\AppData\Local\Ansys_Inc\Discovery\LocalMaterialLibrary\.

Tip: AppData is, by default, a hidden folder. Navigate directly to the folder by entering its filepath in Windows Explorer, or go to View and select Hidden items.

The materials list should update automatically. If your exported materials are not visible:

  • Double-check the exported files are in the correct location (shared and local folders are listed under Material Defaults).
  • Restart Discovery to refresh the materials list.
